Dhaka Sports Club moved into the semi-final of the Port-city cricket League after winning their third successive match, this time against Ispahani SC by seven runs, at the MA Aziz Stadium on Thursday.
The victory ensured their group championship and set up a final-four clash with Chittagong Abahani, who finished runners-up in the other group, despite a 21-run win over arch-rivals Chittagong Mohammedan on the same day.

A group of cricket organisers have demanded that some matches of World Cup 2011 be staged at the Bangabandhu National Stadium along with the opening ceremony.
The organisers, many of whom are the councilliors of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, placed their demand at a press conference on Thursday, saying it was necessary to uphold the cricketing tradition of the country.
‘Cricket in Bangladesh had been nurtured and developed centring the stadium. It is a part of our glorious cricket history, so we should host a few of our eight World Cup matches here,’ said Abid Hossain, a Brothers Union official.
