Tigers take 2-0 lead against New Zealand thumbnail

Bangladesh is leading the five-match ODI series by 2-0 after beating New Zealand by seven wickets in the third one-day of the Micromax ODI Cup at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Monday.

The hosts reached their target in 40 overs, losing three wickets after opener Shahriar Nafees played a brilliant knock of 73 (73).

Nathan McCullum grabbed two wickets while Andy McKay took one.

Earlier, New Zealand were all out for only 173 runs in 42.5 overs depending on struggling batsman Ross Taylor, who scored the highest of 62 (72).

Bangladeshi bowler Suhrawadi Shuvo grabbed three wickets while Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah took two and Rubel Hossain, Shafiul Islam, and Abdur Razzak took one wicket each.

Earlier in the morning, Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and invited Kiwis to bat.

The hosts beat New Zealand by 9 runs in the first ODI on October 5.
